It is the painters of color who hold in their hands the destiny of light” ~ Yves Bonefoy
Nancy is a master signature artist and instructor with over 1500 online students from around the world. She has worked with Disney, served on the art faculty of the Dallas Arboretum, and teaches workshops in France, Italy and across the US.
I never dreamed being a painter and a teacher meant I'd be able to see the world. To paint, to be an artist, is a blessing. You are sharing, living, and existing to create - and that is a very positive thing. If there was one message I would share with my students, it is to honor your art journey, and never to discount yourself as a hobbyist. Imagine what the world would be like if it were filled with creative souls like you. What a wonderful world it would be.
Five years ago, I quit my corporate job as the director of a national magazine
to become a full time artist and art teacher. One morning I had an epiphany: Life is too short not to follow your bliss.
Every day I wake up and my heart surges with happiness. Yes I am an artist. Yes, this is what I do for a living. Yes, I am a lucky girl. Thank you to each of you who has walked with me on this path. Whatever your tomorrow brings, may it be filled with color!
Known for her bold, impressionistic florals and large container gardens that are immediately eye-catching, Nancy teaches online and throughout the US and Europe. Her work has caught the attention of Disney, who hired her to collaborate in promotions for the movie, Beauty and the Beast. She has painted on national TV for Good Day, sharing a loose, bright technique that evokes brilliant color. Nancy's work has attracted over 60,000 fans on Facebook.
Nancy's love of art and gardening originated on her childhood farm in Scurry, Texas, where her parents were organic gardeners. Her earliest memories are of standing barefoot beneath 11 foot sunflower stalks in her family's garden. Nancy studied art history and illustration at the University of London, King's College, Chelsea, and oil painting and color theory at Texas A&M University. Today she resides with her husband and their 3 pugs in Flower Mound, Texas, where she paints daily from Flower Mound Art Studio.
Nancy has worked professionally in design and publishing for over 20 years. In 2013, she retired from her job as the director of a national magazine to pursue her art and teaching full time. Her original oil paintings have been featured in print and Web publications and on the covers of magazines. Nancy is a master signature member of the Artists of Texas, and a member of the prestigious Daily Painters Gallery, the original international gallery of 150 artists who produce new daily works of art for collectors across the globe. Her work is represented by galleries in Texas and California.
