It’s been a regular beehive of activity here in Flower Mound Studio, and by extension in the offices of my staff and helpers around the US! On May 11, I’ll be sharing the biggest announcement I’ve ever made – and every colorful moment of what’s about to come was created especially for you! On Thursday evening I’ll host a live Facebook event for the big reveal, at 6 pm May 11.
In the meantime, I’ve had to be extremely patient and find important activities to keep me busy. It’s amazing what I can get done at times like these, considering patience is not one of my virtues. Tremendous loads of housework have been completed, all my paint tubes are now alphabetized, turp cans are clean and shiny, three pugs have had spaw days, and there are no dust bunnies in my art supply storage closets. If May 11 does not arrive soon, I’m eyeballing uneven grass blades on the back lawn, and considering the merits of a few hours of trimming them with scissors. I ordered six pairs of scissors from Amazon prime the other day (because I decided last month the days of not being able to find scissors in my household were over), so I’m feeling confident about this lawn related project. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that. The two places where I lack mad skills include the kitchen and the garden. Thank goodness I have a hubby who has superpowers in both those camps!
To divert my energies where they’re best served, I’ve just laid out an entire palette of fresh paint, and am starting a new iris painting. Rest assured the lawn is safe, for now. A million thank yous to everyone who joined me painting irises live last night, what a fun party. And when I stated then that leaving a box of fresh donuts with your name on my doorstep would get you the big news early, I wasn’t kidding. Seriously. You know me. I would never kid about donuts! Would you?
