Lace Cap Hydrangeas was my class demonstration this morning in Lees Summit, Missouri. Master gardener Mary Medley brought a bucket filled with hydrangeas to class this morning, and I could not resist painting the entire setup, rustic bucket and all. The studio models were wearing violets in cool and warm shades, and had a bit of backup help from fresh Rose of Sharon clippings provided by Sherry Halfast. This was my only four day workshop this year, and tomorrow we wrap up the festivities with wild red poppies on canvas. Stay tuned for more color to come!

In the meantime, we had a chocolate taste testing contest last night. Those who successfully identified the more expensive chocolate covered almonds (as compared to the store brand) won a free brush! *woohoo!* This evening a few of us got fly fishing lessons on the lake right after dinner. Thanks so much to our hostess, Jennylynne Gragg, for cooking for everyone, we are getting just a bit spoiled here in Missouri….

The studio models take a purple bow and a fuchsia dip!
