Into the Light Iris Garden is dedicated to the memory of my great-grandmother, who although blind from the age of 20, grew gardens of vegetables and flowers and raised a large family in a 2 story house. Her favorite pastime was sitting in her rocking chair listening to the Sunday morning message on the radio. Her house was a treasure trove of wonders, and we spent summers exploring closets full of ancient Montgomery Ward catalogues and trestle peddle sewing machines. I remember the smell of moth balls and the creaking floors in the peacock bedroom upstairs, our favorite place to sleep, because it was rumored the bedroom next door was haunted!
