I think I'm having internet troubles. What should I do? +
♥ Check your internet connection, make sure you are connected.
♥ If you have a poor Wi-Fi connection or signal, try moving your computer or laptop closer to your router. Your router should be optimally placed…open and away from walls, heavy duty appliances and other obstructions which may affect Wi-Fi performance. You could also try plugging an Ethernet cable if you have one.
♥ Limit the number of devices connected to your network. Are other phones, tablets, computers all connected to your network? The more devices connected to your network, the more of a bottleneck it will cause.
♥ When all else fails, reboot! Sometimes our computers, laptops, tablets, etc. just need a good ol’ fashioned hard reboot! For pc’s and laptops, you would want to “shut down” then power back on. For tablets, power them completely off then back on.
Content isn't loading, or the screen is freezing? +
♥ Close other windows and programs. If you have too many programs running or windows open all the over the place, it will not only slow down your computer but may also confuse you on where you were. If you aren’t using an open program or window, just close it.
♥ Clean out temporary files. You would be surprised at all the history your computer saves! Remember shopping for those sandals last summer? Ha ha. These cached files and images can really drag your machine down. Depending which browser you use, the instructions on how to clear your internet files will be different. The most common browsers are Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox and Safari. Simply do a Google search on instructions for deleting internet files for the specific browser you use (Example for Safari users: Go to Google and type in “how do I delete internet files on Safari?” Then follow the instructions provided).

I'm not sure I've got the right browser to view the course? +
♥ Close your browser and launch a new browser. Your browser is simply the tool that displays your internet pages. Find the x in the top right corner, click it. For Safari users, it’s the red button on the top left. Now double click your internet icon to open a new browser.
♥ Use an updated browser….just like fashion, browsers become outdated! Usually if you are up to date on computer updates, your browser is probably fine. Do a Google search on the latest version of your browser. Compare it to yours (Usually found on the help and then “About) from your internet tool bar). If you are several versions behind, go ahead and download the newest. Don’t worry, the downloads are free.

How can I easily find this course? +
Bookmarking is your friend! Bookmark your e-course! Each browser type has a different way to do this but once you bookmark the link to your e-course, you can arrive to your course in one simple click. Typically you would just highlight the link in your browser, right mouse click and select “add to bookmark”. Again, this depends on your browser. Simply do a Google search. Example for Safari bookmark: “how do I bookmark a link on Safari?”
I've still got lag, could it be my internet provider? +
If you are still experiencing slowness, sputtering and lag, check with your internet provider to make sure you are subscribed to a plan that delivers the right speed and data allowance. If they determine you are the one right plan, they may recommend rebooting your router or walk you through other steps on how to trouble-shoot the issue.
General tips for basic maintenance +
♥ Reboot your machine every once in a while.
♥ Keep antivirus software up to date and perform regular scans. If a virus is caught, the software should quarantine and repair it. Installing protective software is a must for safe computing!
♥ Keep up on the updates from Microsoft or Apple. These are usually scheduled automatically by your computer. While they might be pesky, they are actually pretty important.
What is the cancellation policy? +
Members of the Joyful Brush monthly online classes are welcome to pause or cancel your membership/subscription at any time. If you cancel, your account will close at the end of your billing cycle. There are no refunds (prorated or full) for cancelled memberships. If you cancel and then rejoin in the future, you’ll start from the beginning at lesson one, so we always recommend pausing. Pausing your account will immediately suspend your billing, and you will not be able to access the Joyful Brush Lessons already in your account. Reactivating after pausing your account will allow you to pick up where you left off, in lessons and in your billing cycle. Students will have access to their lessons as long as their subscription remains active.
