Hidden Hydrangea Garden is dedicated to the memory of my great-grandmother’s house in Palestine, Texas, a house that holds wonderful childhood memories for me. The shaded verandas, the haunted peacock bedroom upstairs, the large claw-foot bathtub, and the shed in the backyard with so many shadows and places to hide—these places still play a starring role in my dreams sometimes.
