Wind Chimes and Morning Glories and a St. Louis Workshop

This painting captures a cherished view of my own garden and porch swing, where morning glories bloom and pugs linger for snacks. I’m also thrilled to head to my hometown of St. Louis this October to teach a flower and landscape workshop at the Regional Arts Commission.

I’ve been wanting to paint this scene for quite some time. It’s a glimpse of my own back deck and garden. My morning glories are in full bloom, despite the late summer season, thanks to cool weather and plenty of water. When friends and family come to visit, this is where we congregate on the porch swing, with a pug or three nearby in case snacks happen.

I’m super excited to be heading to my hometown of St. Louis, Missouri, October 23–25 to paint flowers and landscapes at the Regional Arts Commission. I can hardly wait to see the beautiful old buildings and some special friends there while I’m at it. I hope you’ll join me!
